Devashish has spent over 16 years doing for large institutions what SME Doctor now does for smaller ones: examining how a business actually runs, identifying where controls fail, and helping fix them.
A Chartered Accountant, he built and scaled risk advisory practices at KPMG, Deloitte, and Grant Thornton, leading teams of up to 30 and advising boards and senior management across India, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
His work has spanned banks and NBFCs, housing finance and fintech, hospitality, power, and public sector enterprises. It includes internal financial controls frameworks across a public sector financial group and its 11 subsidiaries, operational risk frameworks at a small finance bank, and independent assurance over the post-merger integration of two of the UAE's largest banks.
That background matters for a specific reason. Much of his career has been spent inside the institutions SMEs approach for credit: testing their compliance, auditing their lending processes, and seeing how credit decisions are actually made. When SME Doctor tells a promoter what a banker will object to, it is not a guess.
He is a Certified Independent Director (IICA) and holds a data science certification from IIM Kozhikode, with executive study in AI leadership at ISB.
